I made a dream theater in the space of the Intelligenstia gallery in Beijing.
Let audiances re-watch life in dream.
北京市内の胡同にあるInterigenstiaギャラリーに、夢劇場を作りました。
観客に白日夢を見てもらう装置です。
This interaction works was imposed one time for an hour.
Each time for 20 minutes.
The artist open the door of the space, invite audiances to take the seat , then close the door.
Then the artist bows that means the performance is start.
Then play the melodious music, turn on the disco lamp….
Audiances suddenly into a new situation, it's different atmosphere with the outside.
劇場は1時間に1度オープンします。上演時間は大体20分位ですが、観客の皆様の状況によって変わります。
私はドアを開け、みなさんを席に案内して、ドアを閉めます。
それからおもむろにお辞儀をし、始めます。
皆さんはギャラリーのドアに面して座っています。ディスコミュージックがなり、ディスコランプが回り出します。
A few minutes later, the light is turned on.
Connect the microphone then change sound, audiances start to hear the sound of life in the hutong.
暫くして後、音楽が胡同の生活音に変わり、ディスコランプは消されます。
空間内はしばらく生活音のみが聞こえています。
then the artist open the door quietly, audiences suddenly be into another kind of situation.
Some of the audience said, the sound let him calm down,
And start thinking what happened outside...?
その後、私はゆっくりとギャラリーのドアを開きます。
ドアの向こうでは何が起こっているのでしょうか？
見えるのは、人々の生活です。
向こうの人もこちらを覗き込みます。
A few minutes later, the door is closed, then play music and turn on the disco light again. Audiences return to the first step,
しばらくして、またドアは静かに閉まり、、
Then the artist slowly comes in front of audiences and bowed, that means the end.
ミュージックがなり、ディスコランプが回り出します。
白昼夢への旅の終わりです。
A Curator said the artist connected inside of the gallery and outside, construct a whole Dream Theater.
Everyday the "life scenes" became participants imagination and viewing objects, the artist was like a hypnotist, through simple forms, such as music and street sound transformation, door opening and closing, etc.
Let all participants go into the "dream", re-experience everyday life scene, and then participants themselves evoke some thought.
